In 2007, a biopsy revealed Donna Gaidamak had Stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized to her brain. Donna was tested for the ALK gene rearrangement with the Vysis ALK Break Apart FISH Probe Test Kit from Abbott. Results proved she was ALK positive and she was immediately put on XALKORI® (crizotinib). Today, Donna is back to doing the activities she loves: biking, skiing, kayaking and sailing.
Intended Use
The Vysis ALK Break Apart FISH Probe Kit is intended to detect rearrangements involving the ALK gene via fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tissue specimens.
