Zum Dehydrieren die einzelnen Objektträger bei Raumtemperatur nacheinander in Ethanolspüllösungen von jeweils 70 %, 85 % und 100 % jeweils 2 Minuten eintauchen. Die Objektträger an der Luft trocknen lassen. Die Objektträger sind bereit für das FISH-Verfahren. Es wird empfohlen, die Denaturierungszeit für die Objektträger auf ca. 50 % der ursprünglichen Denaturierungszeit zu verkürzen, jedoch nicht auf weniger als 3 Minuten. Bei weiteren Wiederholungshybridisierungen muss die Denaturierungszeit nicht weiter verkürzt werden.
